Visual Description
On a natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on with a bright neon-yellow beak that dominates the lower part of the picture. Behind it sits the typical tall oval single eye, framed by a golden field and surrounded by a radiating wreath of gold, turquoise and black with white dot accents.
Small wings above the eye and a band-like finish at the top of the head heighten the impression of an iconic, almost sacred figure. The neck runs into a graphic column of black and white stripes with golden dots. Clear contours and the compact 20 × 20 cm format condense Focky into a powerful neon pop icon.
Artistic Interpretation
“Focky 3” shows the cult duck at full glow: the inner eye stands for perception and awareness, while the neon beak carries this energy confidently outward. The combination of gold, turquoise and neon yellow plays with value, clarity and radiance – here Focky becomes a figure of light, a reminder not to hide your focus but to make it visible.
The small wings and the mandala-like background point to protection, intuition and the ability to act from inner strength.
Art-Historical Context
Like the other works in the edition, “Focky 3” belongs to contemporary Pop Art and character art: the strongly stylized figure, flat color, clearly outlined forms and decorative dot patterns recall the aesthetics of comics and street art.
At the same time, Ali Görmez carries the influence of classic Pop Art – Keith Haring or James Rizzi, for instance – into a visual universe of his own, in which Focky, as a recurring lead figure, embodies themes such as focus, self-awareness and inner balance.
Exclusivity
“Focky 3 – November 2025 Edition” belongs to a limited edition of hand-painted boards. Each piece is individually executed in acrylic, with its own color nuances, dot placements and details, and is signed by Ali Görmez. Within the series, this motif sets an especially strong, luminous accent with its neon-yellow beak and gold-and-turquoise aura.
Collector Value
The work is a concise statement piece from the Focky universe – ideal in combination with “Focky 1” and “Focky 2,” or as a single eye-catcher in Pop Art and urban contemporary collections. Small in format yet strong in color, “Focky 3” is perfect for workspaces, studios and living areas that call for an energetic impulse of focus and light.
More About the Artist
Ali Görmez, born in Bielefeld in 1980, lives and works in Berlin. His work moves between Pop Art, urban contemporary art and figurative character painting. From early cartoon drawings and influences such as Keith Haring, James Rizzi and Picasso, he developed iconic characters like “The Eddies” and “Focky the Duck.”
With bold colors, clear lines and recurring symbols, he creates visual worlds in which Love, Peace & Art meet a contemporary pictorial language.
