Visual Description

On the natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on. The bright orange beak dominates the lower part of the picture, a strong accent of color against the calm background. Above it sits the typical tall oval single eye with a black, organic line structure. The head is painted in warm beige and olive tones, dotted with light speckles and framed by a green arc.

Two wings in fresh yellow-green grow outward on either side, traced by white contours. The neck runs into a vertical column of green and yellow-green stripes with dots – a graphic contrast to the softly modeled beak.

Artistic Interpretation

“Focky 9” shows the cult duck in a mode of grounding and growth. The eye stands for inner focus, while the green and olive forms and stripes symbolize nature, regeneration and growing into one’s own strength. The orange beak brings vitality and expressiveness into the picture – Focky feels like an ally saying: “Stay focused, but stay rooted. Let your energy grow instead of fizzling out.”

The yellow-green wings reinforce this sense of fresh, rising strength and make the work an image of new beginnings, clarity and grounded confidence.

Art-Historical Context

Like the other works in the series, “Focky 9” belongs to contemporary Pop Art, urban contemporary art and character art. The stylized figure, clear contours, flat colors and ornamental patterns of dots and stripes recall the aesthetics of comics and street art.

At the same time, with Focky, Ali Görmez has developed an iconic character of his own, one that stands in the tradition of the great Pop Art characters and links themes such as focus, identity and inner balance with a fresh, humorous visual language.

Exclusivity

“Focky 9 – November 2025 Edition” is part of a limited edition of hand-painted boards. Each piece is individually executed in acrylic, with its own constellations of dots, wing shapes and color nuances, and is signed by Ali Görmez.

Within the series, this motif sets a particularly strong, nature-connected accent with its orange-and-green palette and the stripes that grow up the neck.

Collector Value

The work is a striking statement piece in the Focky universe and pairs beautifully with other works from the edition – especially those dominated by orange or yellow. With its compact 20 × 20 cm format and dense color, “Focky 9” is ideal for workspaces, studios and living areas that call for an image of focus, growth and positive grounding.

For collectors of Pop Art and character art, it is a distinct building block with high recognition value.
