Visual Description

On the natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on. The bright orange beak dominates the lower part and is accented with small white dots along its contour. Above it sits the characteristic single eye with a turquoise iris, set in a sand-colored head scattered with red hearts, yellow strokes and turquoise and light dots – like a vibrating field of love.

White curved lines at the sides mark a light movement, as if Focky were bobbing cheerfully or laughing. The neck runs into a vertical column of yellow dots and turquoise speckles that continue the playful pattern.

More About the Artist

Ali Görmez, born in Bielefeld in 1980, lives and works in Berlin. His visual language brings together Pop Art, urban contemporary art and figurative character painting. From early cartoon drawings and influences such as Keith Haring, James Rizzi and Picasso, he developed iconic characters like “The Eddies” and “Focky the Duck.”

With clear contours, bold colors and strongly symbolic motifs, he gives themes such as Love, Peace & Art, focus and inner strength a contemporary form.
