Visual Description
On the natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on. The bright orange beak dominates the lower part and is emphasized by black contours and small white dots along its lower edge. Above it sits the characteristic single eye with a turquoise-and-black ringed iris and fine organic lines. The head is painted in warm beige tones and densely scattered with pink, turquoise and gray dots.
Two white wings with turquoise edges grow outward on either side, surrounded by curved white lines that suggest a swinging movement. The neck runs into a graphic column of circles, stripes and an orange triangle – a lively mix of shapes and colors.
Artistic Interpretation
“Focky 12” is Focky in the groove: the large eye stands for alert focus, while circling dots, wings and sweeping lines create a vibrant, rhythmic energy – like music flowing through the body. The orange beak brings warmth and expressiveness into the picture; the turquoise detail in the eye points to clarity and intuition.
Here Focky becomes an ally for everyone who wants not only to hold their focus but to set it in motion – in flow, to the beat of their own life, between clarity and playful momentum.
Art-Historical Context
Like the rest of the edition, the work belongs to contemporary Pop Art and character art. The stylized figure, flat color, strong contours and decorative pattern of dots and lines draw on the aesthetics of comics and street art. At the same time, with Focky, Ali Görmez has developed an icon of his own in the tradition of the great Pop Art characters, translating themes such as focus, rhythm, joy of life and inner balance into an easily accessible visual language.
Exclusivity
“Focky 12 – November 2025 Edition” belongs to a limited edition of hand-painted boards. Each piece is individually executed in acrylic, with its own dot placement and its own design of the wings and the geometric forms at the neck, and is signed by Ali Görmez.
Within the series, this motif adds a particularly dynamic, musical accent with its orange-and-turquoise rhythm and swinging lines.
Collector Value
The work is an expressive statement piece in the Focky universe – ideal as the lively center of a Focky wall or as a single eye-catcher. With its compact 20 × 20 cm format and the strong signal effect of orange, “Focky 12” is an excellent fit for studios, rehearsal rooms, home offices and living areas that call for an image of focus, movement and good spirits.
For collectors of Pop Art and character art, it is a distinct building block with high recognition value.
More About the Artist
Ali Görmez, born in Bielefeld in 1980, lives and works in Berlin. His visual language brings together Pop Art, urban contemporary art and figurative character painting.
