Rike Wölke
Contemporary Artist of Expressionism
Rike Wölke’s painting moves in the tension between figurative representation, expressive power and abstract influences. Her pictures combine representational elements with an energetic, color-intense way of painting, carried by an unmistakable personal hand.
About Rike Wölke
The liveliness of her color is especially striking: strong, luminous tones dominate the canvas and take effect in large areas of color as well as in dynamic lines and rhythmic splashes. This combination creates a powerful visual language that oscillates between controlled form and spontaneous gesture. Contrasts between light and dark, calm and movement add tension and depth to her compositions.
Her way of working joins precise drawn elements with freely placed, gestural applications of paint. This balance of structure and intuition gives the works a particular intensity and lets them be experienced on many levels. Viewers discover not only the visible composition but enter an emotional dimension shaped by vitality, openness and inner dynamism.
Rike Wölke’s art invites viewers to experience the language of color as an expression of inner worlds. Her works open a space in which personal stories, moods and associations can unfold: a lively dialogue between painting, emotion and imagination.

Painting Between Inner Stance, Pop Culture and Symbol
Rike Wölke’s painting takes familiar motifs as its starting point and leads them into open spaces of meaning. Portraits, animals, objects and cultural signs become carriers of self-assertion, memory and instinct: of what protects people, what shapes them and what connects them to their natural and social surroundings.
Characteristic is the interplay of clear figuration with intense colors, drippings, traces of spray paint and material accents. Gold leaf, epoxy resin and collage are never mere effect. They condense surfaces, release meanings and create tension between control and spontaneity, intimacy and public imagery.
Her work unfolds in three groups of works that open independent perspectives while remaining connected by an unmistakable painterly stance.
