Visual Description

The work shows Berlin’s TV Tower from a radically foreshortened perspective—conceived from the bottom up, almost physically tangible. The vertical axis dominates the composition and pulls the eye straight upward.

The color is built up with intensity and strong contrast: warm oranges, reds and yellows gather at the center, while cool blues and greens break out at the sides and open up the space. Lines, traces and gestural interventions heighten the dynamism and give the surface visible movement.

The architecture remains recognizable but is deliberately overlaid. Form and color do not compete; they stand in a tense relationship of structure and dissolution.

Artistic Interpretation

The TV Tower appears here not only as a building but as an attitude.

It becomes the silent observer of a city in motion—present, constant, almost timeless. The concentration of color at the center can be read as energy arising from urban life itself: density, speed, diversity.

At the same time, the composition carries a second layer: orientation. The clear vertical alignment acts as a visual counterweight to the restlessness of its surroundings—a fixed point in the flow. A picture that mediates between dynamism and stability.

Art-Historical Context

The work moves between contemporary Expressionism and urban abstraction.

The expressive use of color and gestural layering recall classic positions of expressive painting, combined here with a clear architectural reference. This pairing of urban motif and painterly dissolution also points to influences of urban art and a present-day, space-oriented painting practice.

The perspective—strongly foreshortened and opening upward—adds an almost cinematic component that firmly places the work in a contemporary context.

Exclusivity

This is a large-format one-of-a-kind work, 200 cm high.

Its dimensions decisively heighten its effect: the motif unfolds not only as a picture but as a presence that shapes the room.

At this size, a physical closeness to the motif emerges that cannot be reproduced in smaller formats. The combination of format, perspective and intensity of color makes the work an independent position within the series.

Collector Value

The collector’s appeal of this work lies in the combination of iconic recognizability and an independent painterly translation. Berlin’s TV Tower is immediately legible as a motif, yet here it is not shown documentarily but carried into an expressive, color-dense visual language. This creates a quality that goes beyond a mere cityscape or architectural reference.

Added to this is the strong spatial presence of the large format. At 200 × 100 cm, the work develops a clear vertical effect and shapes a room not only visually but in how it is experienced. For collectors, this matters especially when a work captivates at first glance and reveals further layers with longer viewing.

The work combines accessibility with depth, urban energy with formal clarity, and is therefore suited to collections seeking contemporary positions with a strong presence and recognizable character.
