Träumende Tropfen

Visual Description

Vertical black drip lines run across a delicate, playful ground in turquoise, mint and pink. Up close they read as pure abstraction; from a distance they condense into the face of a young woman lost in a dream. Fine red marks and circular signs set urban accents, and subtle relief effects give the picture texture and depth.

Artistic Interpretation

The work plays with nearness and distance: abstraction turns into a figure as soon as you step back. This is how dreaming is shown – as a suspended state between the inner world and perception. The drips stand for flowing thoughts, the pastel ground for calm; together they form a quiet portrait of introspection.

Art-Historical Context

The work combines gestural abstraction and optical image-making (the Gestalt principle) with urban-art gestures in lettering and marks. In the tradition of neo-expressive painting, drips and layering create a dynamic surface, while the emerging portrait connects to contemporary hybrids of abstraction and figuration.

Exclusivity

An original with a deliberate double reading: abstract up close, figurative from afar. The material-rich surface and the 4 cm stretcher depth give it a strong presence on the wall.

Collector Value

A conversation piece that lets you literally experience perception. The pairing of calm pastels and black rhythm works especially well in contemporary collections and in architectural spaces with light and long sight lines.
