Visual Description
Through a grid of dark posts and glass panes, one looks out onto a forecourt with trees, buildings and bicycles. On the left, a woman in a hood walks down a ramp; on the right, a second silhouette steps into the edge of the frame. On a poster in the background, a woman wears sunglasses. Milky stripes in the glass divide the picture horizontally, and the floor reflects the light dully.
Artistic Interpretation
The glass separates and connects: you look out, you look in, you see yourself. The figures are passing through; the poster in the background shows a smooth face while real people walk by in front. The picture asks who is actually present in urban space.
Art-Historical Context
Layers of reflection and transparency refer to the street photography of Lee Friedlander, who made windowpanes and reflections the subject of his pictures. The strict structure of verticals and horizontals remains clearly legible.
Exclusivity
A dense, deliberately layered picture that opens up layer by layer with longer viewing. In the selection, it forms the counterpart to the open, bright “Buchloe, Hall.”
Collector Value
For foyers, law firms, agencies and spaces that work with transparency. As a pair with “Buchloe, Hall,” it creates a diptych of expanse and view through.
More About the Artist
Olli Boehm combines digital photography with mixed-media interventions to create layered pictorial spaces in which reality, memory and atmosphere interlock. His works condense urban and human situations into visual metaphors—between blur, texture and precise composition.
With pure photography, as in the series “A day at the sea” and in his street pictures, he shows the clear, reduced side of this approach.
