Visual Description
On the natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on. The bright yellow beak spreads like a friendly smile across the lower part, framed by black contours and a line of white dots. Above it sits the characteristic single eye with a turquoise iris, set in a head of shimmering pastels: pink, mint, yellow and beige form a rainbow-like arc. Small white wings directly above the eye look like lashes or closed eyelids.
The neck runs into a graphic column of triangles, dots and fields of color – mint, yellow and an apricot circle – that recalls a playful bow tie. White lines swing around the sides of the head, suggesting a light, cheerful movement.
Artistic Interpretation
“Focky 16” is the rainbow-and-good-luck version of the cult duck. The large eye stands for a clear gaze, combined here with an aura of pastel stripes – an image of inner diversity, hope and gentle strength. The small wings above the eye give Focky something dreamlike, almost sleepwalking: a moment between wakefulness and an inner daydream.
The yellow beak brings warmth and humor into the picture, while the “bow-tie neck” suggests festivity – as if Focky were ready for a special occasion. The work stands for a focus that is not strict but soft, playful and colorful: seeing, feeling and celebrating all at once.
Art-Historical Context
“Focky 16” belongs to the field of neo-pop, happy art and contemporary cartoon art. The clearly stylized figure, flat colors, rows of dots and rainbow arc draw on the Pop Art and street-art aesthetics familiar from contemporary urban culture.
Ali Görmez continues the tradition of iconic pop characters and expands it with a symbolic system of his own, in which Focky stands for optimism, self-awareness and a playful joy of life.
Exclusivity
“Focky 16 – November 2025 Edition” is part of a limited series of hand-painted boards. Each board is an acrylic original in its own right, with individually placed dots, gradients and details, and is signed by Ali Görmez.
Within the edition, this motif plays a special role as the “Rainbow Focky” – with its pastel aura and festive bow at the neck.
Collector Value
The work is a compact feel-good statement: ideal for spaces that call for a cheerful, bright accent – from living rooms and studios to practices, children’s rooms and offices. Combined with other Focky works, “Focky 16” brings a soft, colorful note to the series.
The compact 20 × 20 cm format makes it flexible for gallery walls and art walls; the yellow beak and rainbow colors make sure it still catches the eye at once.
