Elephant modern

Visual Description

An elephant striding straight toward us fills the picture surface. The skin shimmers in blue, magenta, yellow and turquoise; broad impasto strokes and transparent glazes meet sprayed areas of color. The light ground gives the figure lightness and a pulsing, urban aura.

Artistic Interpretation

The elephant appears as an emblem of calm strength and deliberate forward movement. The neon palette translates mass into energy—a picture about focus, self-confidence and presence without aggression.

Art-Historical Context

The combination of realistic figuration and abstract, gestural color connects to Pop and Neo-Expressionism. Color contrasts and an open composition clearly place the work in contemporary wildlife portraiture.

Exclusivity

A one-of-a-kind work in a representative vertical format. Characteristic features are Graf’s precise anatomy, the multilayered modulation of color and the dynamic contrast between the figure and freely placed fields of color.

Collector Value

A striking statement piece about strength, mindfulness and movement—richly colored and defining for a room. Ideal for foyers, offices and modern living spaces, and for collections focused on contemporary animal motifs.
