FAVORI No. 1 Genesis
The first exhibition in the FAVORI series. For three weeks, eight contemporary positions entered into dialogue with the historic rooms of Schloss Gleina.
Where something begins
Genesis asked where something begins – and answered in the plural. In May 2026, Favori Art showed painting, mixed media and sculpture by eight artists at Schloss Gleina: large-format originals, new cycles of work and hangings developed specifically for the rooms.
The rooms were not a backdrop but part of the exhibition. Rough walls, filtered light and structures shaped over centuries entered into a direct dialogue with the works, and shadows and atmosphere shifted with the time of day. The result was a route through the castle that let visitors experience contemporary art deliberately outside the white cube.
The exhibition was made possible by Felix Schenker, who opened Schloss Gleina for this project.
