Visual Description

On a natural-toned painting board, Focky looks straight out of the picture. The bright yellow beak fills the lower part of the image and acts as a radiant anchor for the motif. Above it sits the typical tall oval single eye with fine “crack lines,” framed by a head in beige and sand tones covered with turquoise and cream wave patterns.

Two turquoise wings, outlined in white and black, grow outward on either side like lively wings of thought. Short white rays surround the head and wings. The neck runs into a graphic column of turquoise stripes and dots and sand-colored bars.

Artistic Interpretation

“Focky 5” shows the cult duck as a blend of focus and flow. The inner eye stands for mindfulness and clear perception, while the wave pattern on the head symbolizes movement, rhythm and emotional vibrations. The turquoise wings and yellow beak combine lightness with a friendly presence – here Focky embodies the state in which thoughts, feelings and focus are in flow.

More About the Artist

Ali Görmez, born in Bielefeld in 1980, lives and works in Berlin. His visual language brings together Pop Art, urban contemporary art and figurative character painting. From early cartoon drawings and influences such as Keith Haring, James Rizzi and Picasso, he developed his own iconic characters like “The Eddies” and “Focky the Duck.”

With bold colors, clear lines and strongly symbolic imagery, he gives themes such as Love, Peace & Art, focus and inner strength a contemporary form.
