Visual Description
On the natural-toned painting board, Focky appears head-on. The strong orange beak stretches wide across the lower part of the picture, emphasized by clear black contours and a white edge. Above it sits the characteristic single eye, set in a sand-colored head densely covered with turquoise, green and orange dots – like a glowing cosmos of small planets.
Two white wings grow outward on either side, along with curved lines that suggest a bobbing movement. At the neck, the pattern continues in a column of circles, stripes and a slanted triangle – a lively mix of comic-style shapes.
Artistic Interpretation
“Focky 13” shows the cult character bursting with joy of life. The eye stands for an alert, curious gaze; the many dots on the head recall the ideas, inspirations and encounters circling around Focky. The orange beak brings warmth and humor, while the wings and sweeping lines lend the picture lightness and momentum – as if Focky were laughing or dancing.
The work stands for a focus that is not rigid but playful: attentive, open to new impulses and ready to move.
Art-Historical Context
The work sits at the intersection of urban pop, cartoon art and contemporary Pop Art. The stylized duck figure, flat colors, strong outlines and decorative patterns recall street art, graffiti and digital character aesthetics.
With Focky, Ali Görmez has developed a figurative language of his own in the tradition of iconic pop characters, translating themes such as attention, zest for life and self-awareness into an accessible, humorous visual system.
Exclusivity
“Focky 13 – November 2025 Edition” is part of a limited series of hand-painted boards. Each piece is created as an acrylic original in its own right, with individual dot placement, its own wing shape and slightly varying color gradations, and is signed by Ali Görmez. Within the edition, this motif sets an especially energetic accent with its orange, green and turquoise play of color and its clearly animated gestures.
Collector Value
The work is a compact but very present wall piece – ideal for collectors of urban pop, Pop Art and contemporary cartoon art. “Focky 13” works both as a single focal point in a kitchen, studio, office or entryway and in an ensemble with other Focky works.
The square 20 × 20 cm format makes it easy to hang; its strong color ensures it holds its own on gallery walls and art walls.
