Maigrün

Visual Description

Luminous May green streams from top to bottom in dense, gestural bands. The impasto application forms waves, arcs and channels; toward the center the light condenses, while the edges remain dark and earthy.

Artistic Interpretation

The work translates growth and new beginnings into a physical movement of color. The green evokes nature, breath and renewal – an impulse between vitality and contemplation. The serial, almost calligraphic marks make time visible: every trace a gesture, every arc a breath.

Art-Historical Context

The work sits between gestural abstraction, Art Informel and Color Field painting. The reduced palette and rhythmic brushwork connect to monochrome traditions, while the relief-like surface adds a contemporary, material accent.

Exclusivity

A one-of-a-kind original in a distinctive hand: strong materiality, an energetic gesture of brush and palette knife, and a characteristic green that continues Uslu’s series of color-intense field paintings.

Collector Value

A strong position that shapes the room, compelling for its clear idea of color and tactile surface. Versatile to curate – from minimalist to nature-related hangings – and suited as a focal point in private and institutional collections.

More About the Artist

Sadik Uslu is a contemporary painter who has worked between landscape and abstraction for more than 25 years, building vibrant fields of color from multiple layers of acrylic and oil glazes.

His tactile surfaces, with inclusions of materials such as earth and sand, are characteristic of his work: they condense light, movement and groundedness into a pictorial energy you can feel immediately.
