Gorilla modern

Visual Description

A half-length portrait of a gorilla against a light, abstract, colorful background. Blue, pink, yellow and green lie in soft areas and glazes, while fine lines and drips add gestural accents. The gaze is calm and direct—the facial expression precisely modeled.

Artistic Interpretation

Graf shows the gorilla as a symbol of dignity, empathy and quiet strength. The urban color lends the motif energy; the portrait becomes a study of presence, intelligence and inner calm.

Art-Historical Context

Figurative portrait painting meets abstract gestures of color—between Pop aesthetics and Neo-Expressionism. The blend of real anatomy and free fields of color clearly places the work in contemporary wildlife portraiture.

Exclusivity

A one-of-a-kind work in a medium format. Characteristic features are Graf’s high-contrast lighting, the fine anatomy of the face and the multilayered, gestural color with glazes and drips—an instantly recognizable signature style.

Collector Value

A striking statement piece about strength and gentleness—timeless, modern and concise in the room. Ideal for living and working spaces, and for collections focused on contemporary animal and portrait painting.
