Visual Description
The art sculpture “Tobi Kadachi – Matriarch” rises in elegant tension from a root-like base: azure to cobalt-blue scales, ivory belly plates, red eyes. Beneath her curving body, the matriarch shelters three meticulously modeled young. The sculpture shows finely differentiated fields of scales, horn buds and soft color gradients – dense to the touch, clearly composed.
Artistic Interpretation
The sculpture explores sovereignty through care. Its posture is defined not by attack but by watchful responsibility. Afrić creates an image of protection, origin and passing things on – strength as the ability to hold space and set boundaries. The sculpture binds emotion and authority in a quiet, decisive presence.
Art-Historical Context
The art sculpture “Tobi Kadachi – Matriarch” stands at the intersection of the animalier tradition, mythological creature iconography and contemporary creature design. The classic mother-and-child motif is translated into a present-day formal language: biology as an allegory of responsibility and heritage – far from decoration, clearly an auteur sculpture.
Exclusivity
Tobi Kadachi – Matriarch is a one-of-a-kind sculpture from 2016 (a single piece, not part of an edition).
Collector Value
As a unique sculpture, the matriarch holds a clearly distinctive place in Afrić’s cosmos: an anchor work with high recognition value, suited to display cases and exhibitions, and ideal in combination with wall sculptures or other standing figures. Its narrative depth and singularity create a solid foundation for lasting relevance.
